ABOUT HORSEBACK UK

HorseBack UK inspires positive change, encourages confidence and self-esteem, and promotes recovery in an individual. Using horsemanship and outdoor activities, we deliver nationally accredited personal development and wellbeing programmes which offer our participants new coping strategies, life skills and the tools to build resilience.

Introduction

In November 2008 Jock and Emma Hutchison moved with their young family to Ferrar just outside Aboyne in Aberdeenshire. Their plan was to set up a business using American Quarter Horses and western riding to explore the beautiful scenery of Royal Deeside.

Horseback Team

HorseBack are all about the team. Nothing we do here would be possible without the men and women who work with the horses and on the courses, who are part of the wider HorseBack family of supporters and fund-raisers and volunteers, who form our charity partnerships, and who do the vital behind-the-scenes work.

Why Horses?

Horses don’t judge, they don’t have an agenda, they don’t care if you only have one leg, suffer from an addiction or have anxiety and depression.

Our Horses

The horses lie at the heart of everything we do at HorseBack UK. They are trained using a variation on techniques and although calm and quiet are extremely responsive when being worked on the ground or ridden.

Governance

Our top team of trustees brings insight and experience from across our profession.

Awards & Accreditations

Using horsemanship and outdoor activities, we deliver nationally accredited personal development programmes which offer our participants new coping strategies, life skills and the tools to build resilience.

Testimonials

We love hearing from our participants, and testimonials are very important to us. They show what is working and what is not, which areas need fine-tuning, what we need to concentrate on for the future. At the end of each course, there is a fairly comprehensive debriefing. But sometimes, the simplest statements are the ones which touch us most.

We do not rely on government funding so any donations will greatly assist with the running of our charity.
