We are thrilled to announce that HorseBack UK has become a Charity of the Year with Repsol Sinopec Resources UK. The company announced that throughout 2017 it will be supporting Horseback UK, Alzheimer Scotland and the Forget-Me-Not Club, and has committed to matching funds raised by its staff up to a grand total of £25,000.

“What’s exciting for us at HorseBack UK is that fundraising will be a joint effort with a series of events planned throughout the next 12 months”, said HorseBack UK operations manager, Jason “Jay” Hare.

“We have an exciting events calendar planned for the staff at Repsol Sinopec, where they will get an opportunity to visit us in Dinnet, volunteer on our working farm, enjoy a family friendly event with our horses, participate in a Sports Week that will engage those working offshore and, attend a Charity Ball.”

A common theme across these charities selected by Repsol Sinopec is physical and mental health.  In keeping with this, members of the Leadership Team at Repsol Sinopec kicked off the fundraising by running a leg of the ‘Devil of Deeside’ endurance event that was created to mark the 20th anniversary of RunBalmoral, raising £2750 so far.

“We are extremely grateful to Repsol Sinopec and all their staff who will be raising funds for us throughout the year as well as helping us get better awareness of our work with Veterans and the community”, said Jay.

“We’re looking forward to the many initiatives planned with Repsol Sinopec and appreciate that they’ve taken on a challenge of raising funds, volunteering with us and participating in the events which will allow us to build long lasting relationships with the people fundraising on our behalf.”

If you would like to support Repsol Sinopec’s employees’ fundraising efforts you can do so by visiting our Charity of the Year pages here.  All funds raised via that page and as part of their Charities of the Year Programme will (unless otherwise stated) be allocated on the following basis: Horseback UK (50%); Alzheimer Scotland (25%) and the Forget-Me-Not Club (25%).
