Today, HorseBack’s own Becky is taking another step along the road to her NVQ. She is working for a qualification in stable management and riding. Becky first came to us as part of our Youth Initiative, which was developed in partnership with Colin Nichol of Banchory Academy. The idea was to invent a course for children who were, for various different reasons, struggling at school. Several of our veterans came back to help on these courses, fulfilling the HorseBack idea that the best way to help people is to encourage them to help others. The idea was also to involve HorseBack in the local community, something which is very important to us.
When Becky first arrived, uncertain and mostly silent in those early days, nobody dreamed that she would end up as a permanent part of the HorseBack team. It is one of our happiest stories.
